Wedding Ceremony FormalitiesThe couple should contact me as soon as possible after setting the wedding date. The initial contact confirms that, I am available at the date, time and place desired for the ceremony. If I am not available, I could put you in touch with someone I feel would be best suited to you. The NIM will be forwarded to you via email for you to fill out, BUT NOT SIGN (the signing must be witnessed by the Celebrant). This form can be lodged anytime within the 18 month period before the marriage, and sent to the Celebrant who retains the Notice of Intended Marriage form. However, it must be completed one month and one day prior to your wedding day. Sample ceremonies will be offered to the couple to adapt and use as they see fit. If one member of the couple is migrating to Australia, I will explain any special procedures necessary. The Marriage Certificate and Register's signed after the wedding takes place, and this must be witnessed by two people over the age of 18 years. I as the Celebrant, lodge your paperwork and Legalities, and give you, the couple a CERTIFICATE OF MARRIAGE. If a copy of the legalities is required for Immigration, this can be provided within 24 hours or can be posted within 3 weeks (fees payable to Births, Deaths & Marriages). Also a letter to Foreign Affairs provided where necessary. Please enquire as to fees applicable at the time. |
